Casa Ruiz Bridgnorth authentic tapas bar, was opened in May 2009 by Alfonso Yufera-Ruiz, and his partner Emma. The name derives from 'House of Alfonso' and you certainly get that feeling the moment you arrive. A welcoming smile, from partner Emma, or one of the team, and a real homely buzz.

Solid oak floors, crooked with age, and brimming with character, with low ceilings, and high 'sash' windows offer views of Bridgnorth High street. Located 2 doors from Beaman's Butchers, and above Bridgnorth Deli, Casa Ruiz is in good company.

Local Produce - Alfonso is a passionate foodie, and continues his Spanish traditions of buying local where best, and further afield to seek out the best ingredients to add flavour to his creations. Much of the local produce is bought from Bridgnorth suppliers, including local meats, vegetables, and fish from Birmingham Market, where Alfonso travels from every day. Many of his suppliers come from his days at Simpsons Michelin Restaurant in Birmingham, where he was much respected as front of house manager for Chef Patron Andreas Antona.

Authentic Tapas- To continue his traditions, Alfonso also imports or purchases form specialist suppliers irreplicable ingredients such as "Morcilla" or traditional Spanish black pudding, Piquillo Peppers, and his secret ingredients for his family Tortilla recipe. Fresh herbs are complimented by Spanish spices, which his family often bring with them when visiting.

From light nibbles, olives, anchovies, and fresh breads, to hearty meatballs,, Black pudding wrapped in peppers, Gambas or Spanish Omelet, with over 30 dishes to choose form many for as little as £3.50, you will not be spoilt for choice. Vegetarians are also catered for and those who perhaps are not so keen on Afonso's generous helpings of healthy, hand crushed garlic - just ask for any variation.
