The only review i could possibly write for this bistro is do not eat here. I went on New Years Day and the service was shocking. The wrong food was brought out. When the right food came i ordered minted chicken only to find it was cajun chicken with a mint dip. My partner had no butter with his jacket potato. During this fiasco two people sat at the end of our table without even asking and if that wasn't rude enough when my partner went up to the bar some extremely rude elderly lady plonked herself down in his seat without asking if anyone was sitting there and without a care in the world. She didn't bat an eyelid when i subtley said to a friend about whether my partner had finished his drink. Also while we were waiting to pay i spotted a waiter taking food upstairs with the customers cutlery in his pocket. I can only say i was very disappointed with every aspect of this bistro and will never return and with my partner being a businessman will never recommend anyone to go here. i will only deter people from contemplating going within walking distance of this shocking, shoddily run so called bistro.

Had an evening meal with 2 friends on 1st August 2009. It was busy on arrival and menu was extensive but overpriced for quality. Service was good but food disappointing. It providedstandard pub food which was not home made and was expensive for what it was.

I have eaten here many times, and will continue to do so. Always had a brilliant evening, with good service and excellent food. Great to pop in for lunch too. Highly recommended.

I have eaten here several times over the past few years and found the establishment to be over-rated. It's continued polularity I can only assume must be due to it's High Street location and wide menu. The staff were not overly friendly and there seems to be quite a high turnover of waiting and bar staff. My most memorable experience was whilst ordering mine and my partner's desserts at the sweet counter, a senior male member of staff after 'huffing' when I asked what the desserts were (which weren't named or labelled) he told me to 'hurry up' as he had to get back to the bar area. Being a polite customer I was left totally speechless, so quickly chose a dessert, finished our meal and have not eaten at Baileys Wine Bar and Bistro since.
