The Crown at Hopton Wafers, was originally a 16th Century coaching inn. Today the Crown continues its tradition of warm hospitality with excellent accommodation and outstanding food, priding ourselves in sourcing local  produce where possible, for which we are so well known.

Restaurants

Excellent food and wines served in the informal "Rent Room" or full service in their new "Poacher's Restaurant"

The Crown has an enviable reputation for good food, sourced from  regional produce, from traditional dishes to adventurous house specialities, as well as fresh fish. 

Fish Nights every Friday are extremely popular, with booking recommended....Not to mention their ‘Home-made FAT chips.’ Available daily.

New Restaurant ~ Decorated and furnished to provide a perfect setting. The Crown's new restaurant extension now adds a further 30 places for you to enjoy our cuisine. Cooking is up-to-date and imaginatively prepared with seasonal menus using fresh local produce, specialising in local meats and game.

Rent Room Bar Food ~ You can also relax in their ‘Rent Room’ Restaurant off the traditional bar, offering traditional pine kitchen style seating with relaxing views. Serving daily menus, lite bites & specials.

Main Restaurant ~ Character and atmosphere with exposed beams, stonework and large inglenook, the main restaurant is beautifully decorated and furnished to provide a perfect setting.

Accommodation

Accommodation at The Crown is in spacious and charming. The 18 bedrooms are tastefully individually furnished with antique furniture, beams, interesting paintings, prints, and thoughtful extras, to make the most of this period Inn.

They offer a selection of premium rooms with a wide range of decor and styles, all equipped with everything for the modern world but combined with the intimacy, service and charm of a family run village inn, with up to date facilities such as with modern bathrooms, remote control colour televisions, direct dial telephone, alarm radio, trouser press and tea & coffee making facilities and wi-fi

Traditional accommodation is located in the main 16th Century building offering 7 country style double bedrooms all with premium up-to-date bathrooms.

Cottage Accommodation

Contemporary Accommodation is available in their recently built ‘Coach House;’ 

Adjoining the main 16th century building, the Coach House Cottage, offers versatile accommodation. A selection of 11 tastefully created rooms are in-keeping but with more modern influences and decor.
Can sleep up to 22, as doubles, or twins, all overlooking the gardens and pond, with
private garden to the rear.

Function Room 

The Crown Inn's  newly built extension boasts four comfortable sofas to relax on as you make your selection from their fine menus.

Decorated to a high standard this room is an ideal place for a celebration or a get together.
It is available for private hire from parties of 15 and above.

It can seat up to 40 and when combined with the Rent room or Restaurant it can accommodate 80 with an overall capacity of 110. Ideal for Wedding receptions etc.

Private Dining
The Crown can also accommodate private functions in their new dining suite, catering
for  up to 45 seated guests in their function suite with bespoke menus to suit your needs. Larger functions can be catered for utilising both the restaurants as well as a large garden marquee.
Capacity 120 - 200 guests.
