Welcome to the Fighting Cocks, Stottesdon village.
Set in the picturesque hamlet of Stottesdon, 4 miles from Burwarton, and 9 miles from Bridgnorth, the Fighting Cocks is the true Hub of the community. Possibly one of the most recognised and ‘famous’ pubs in Shropshire, appearing on local and National radio, TV, and many pub, dining and walking guides including Hardens, Good Pub Guide, Alistair Sawdays, the Daily and Sunday Telegraph, Guardian Food Weekly to name but a few, and landlady Sandra Jefferies was congratulated by HRH Prince Charles, spokesperson for the National Pub is the Hub campaign (see pic below) helping save rural pubs.
An historic inn, offically dating back to 1830 as a pub, but older as a coaching inn, and a brew house. and now is famed Nationally for its passion for local produce, real ales, and initiatives to support the local community, by opening its own shop(see above), selling produce form the pub, local fruit vegetables, meats, and of course owner Sandra's homemade pies - not to mention sausages from her very own pigs - who have a happy life eating the restaurant peelings and veg. Homemade puds are also served in the pub and the shop - but you will need to get there early!
