I have mixed feeling about my experience at the clive, I was not great, but far from a bad expeience. The room was average, felt quite clinical, a bit rough round the edges, as we went for a romantic break, and wanted to relax, the room let us down, did not at all feel cosy. The restaurant where we had our main meal on valentines was beautifull, they had put a single rose and rose petals on the tables, which was alovely touch. Sevice was slow, and we never got our coffees at the end, we waited for a long time. But on our first night we had a meal in the bar, the bar area I have to say is small, and not very comfortable, so you dont feel like spending much time there, which is not what you want from a night out. The food was just above average, small portions, but not to great in flavour, after reading it has 2 aa roseettes i did expect a lot more. Breakfast was nice, as expected, ceareals, juice, and a choice of cooked food. The service was alittle ruched, the waitress was keen, i was told to help myself to ceareals, but before i had finished pouring them, ( had not even sat down) she was taking my order, and i had not even looked at the menu, i told her this, but she stood there waiting, so i feel a little bit more time should of been given.
