The Venture Inn's chef-patron Toby Fletcher worked at the neighbouring Crown and Sandys before deciding to set up for himself at this quaint and pretty black and white restaurant.
And very successful he's been too. The bijou place has a smart, modern look inside which blends well with the ancient beams, inglenook fireplace and old stone.
The cooking here can be a bit of a blow-out but it's jampacked with flavour. Toby excels at intensifying the taste in every ingredient. It's good value too.
